If your driver’s licence or learner’s permit information has been compromised in a data breach, which occurs when unauthorised individuals gain access to sensitive personal information, you should act quickly to protect yourself from the risk of identity fraud.
The quickest and easiest way to protect your driver’s licence information is by:
- replacing your driver’s licence or learner’s permit card, or
- placing a block on your driver’s licence or learner’s permit.
You can advise us if you have changed your gender. We record your gender information, but it’s not displayed on your driver's licence, learner's permit or your WA Photo Card.
You can change your gender to:
- M - Male
- F - Female
- X - You do not identify as male or female.
What you need to do
You can update your gender details in person at your nearest Driver and Vehicle Services centre, DoT regional office or agent. You’ll need to bring:
- a completed Change of Personal Details (Form C4)
- 1 form of primary, and 1 form of secondary proof of identity,
And:
- any 1 of the following:
- a statement from a Registered Medical Practitioner or Registered Psychologist, certifying that you have been their client
- a valid Australian Government travel document, such as a valid Passport, which specifies your preferred gender
- an amended State or Territory Births Deaths and Marriages birth certificate, which specifies your preferred gender
- a State or Territory Gender Recognition Certificate, or recognised details certificate showing that a State or Territory Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages has accepted your change in sex.
